The AACC has today announced the establishment of Ancient Catholic Press, a new publishing imprint created to address a long-standing gap in Christian publishing: the absence of serious, faithful theology written specifically for the newcomer, the student and the ordinary enquiring reader.

New imprint founded to bring serious, faithful theology out of the seminaryand into the hands of newcomers, students and everyday believers
KING'S LYNN, NORFOLK - 7 August 2026: The Ancient Apostolic Catholic Church (AACC) has today announced the establishment of Ancient Catholic Press, a new publishing imprint created to address a long-standing gap in Christian publishing: the absence of serious, faithful theology written specifically for the newcomer, the student and the ordinary enquiring reader.
The imprint has been incorporated as a private limited company registered in England and Wales, with the Archbishop Primate of the AACC, the Most Reverend Felix Gibbins OSD, serving as its Director.
Addressing a gap in theological publishing
For many readers drawn to explore the Christian faith, whether newcomers, lay enquirers, students preparing for ministry, or long-standing believers simply wanting to deepen their prayer life, the existing landscape of theological publishing can feel like a closed door. Much of what is written on theology, prayer, liturgy, church history and the lives of the saints is produced by and for academic specialists, dense with technical language and assumptions that leave the general reader behind. What remains is often the opposite extreme: brief devotional titles offering comfort without depth. Between these two poles lies a substantial and largely unserved readership: people who want to engage seriously with the Christian tradition but have rarely been given the tools, or the welcome, to do so.
Ancient Catholic Press has been established to close that gap, publishing theology that is doctrinally serious without being inaccessible, and genuinely welcoming without being thin.
A platform for new and emerging authors
The imprint will place particular emphasis on new and emerging authors. This includes first-time writers who have never previously had the opportunity to publish, clergy and catechists who have taught a subject for years without setting it down on paper, students and seminarians producing work of real value to those who follow them, and lay readers who have done the work of understanding their faith and are ready to share what they have learned with others.
Many gifted and faithful writers working outside the major denominations and established publishing houses have had, until now, nowhere to take such work beyond independent self-publishing platforms, which offer little in the way of editorial support, formation or a wider readership. Ancient Catholic Press intends to become that home.
Speaking on the announcement, Archbishop Primate Felix Gibbins OSD said:
“For too long, theology has lived behind a glass wall: visible to those trained to read it, but out of reach for almost everyone else. Ancient Catholic Press exists to take theology down from that shelf marked ‘academic only’ and place it into the hands of anyone with a genuine desire to understand their faith. We want to publish the student working through their first term of formation, the lifelong parishioner who has never quite found the right book, and the new author who has something true and useful to say but nowhere yet to say it. That work matters, and it deserves a proper home.”
A growing catalogue
The imprint's first title, The Divine Office Explained, a full introduction to the Church's daily round of prayer written for lay readers, was published this week. It will be followed by a growing catalogue, including a three-volume presentation of Aquinas' Summa prepared for the general reader, The Chaplain in the World, a comprehensive guide to chaplaincy for students and seminarians, and The Great Amen, alongside a wider series of titles developed alongside the curriculum of the Seminary of Saint Thomas Aquinas, addressing areas of theology that have historically received little attention in general publishing.
A number of existing titles currently published under the Church's Order of St David imprint, including The Little Hours: A Celtic Prayer Book, A Path of Prayer, Living the Rule of St David, The Rule of St David and A Companion to Holy Week, will also be reissued under Ancient Catholic Press in the coming months.
Opening the door to new writers
Ancient Catholic Press will shortly begin accepting submissions from new authors. Full details of how to apply will be published on the Church's website in the coming weeks, and prospective authors are welcome to register their interest ahead of time.
